About 1.8 million tons of Azerbaijani oil was transhipped through the western export pipeline Baku-Supsa during the first half of this year, the Oil and Gas Corporation of Georgia said on Friday.
'Oil transhipment through the Supsa terminal decreased by 13 per cent compared to the same period last year', a statement said.
The company did not transport oil on this route in 2007 due to repairs on the pipeline which was opened in November 2006. The pipeline filled with oil in mid-2008, but was suspended due to the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. Oil transportation was then restored in early November 2008.
BP is the operator of the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
