Gas supplies from Iran to Turkey suspended due to explosion on gas pipeline

Strong explosion on a gas pipeline in eastern Turkey has led to suspension of supplies to the country from Iran, Turkish Hurriyet newspaper reported on Monday.

According to the newspaper, the explosion took place as a result of terror attack committed by militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

The explosion took place in Agri Province.

The gas pipeline daily supplied 27 million cubic meters of natural gas from Iran to Turkey. It is expected that repairing the damaged section will take at least four days.
