Cessation of Azerbaijani gas export to Turkey in connection with the explosion, which occurred on the Turkish section of the South Caucasus gas pipeline, had no impact on the volume of gas produced from Shah Deniz, head of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev told reporters on Tuesday.

Abdullayev said the amount of gas produced from Shah-Deniz, which isn't directed to Turkey is pumped into the underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan.

Currently, the volume of gas produced from this field by SOCAR is 21-22 million cubic meters per day.

Abdullayev noted that currently the volume of gas in underground facilities in Azerbaijan exceeds three billion cubic meters.

"The volumes this year will exceed last year's figures," Abdullayev said.

Referring to the issue of security of the Turkish section, Abdullayev said the Turkish side should provide the site safety in accordance with the commitments.
