Uranium produced by Kazakh national company Kazatomprom for the nine months of 2012 amounted to 15,080 tons which is eight per cent more than the same period last year, the company said on Thursday.

'The share of Kazatomprom was 8601 tons in a total volume of uranium production in Kazakhstan, or nearly eight per cent more than the same period last year', a statement said.

Kazatomprom's consolidated revenue for the nine months of 2012 amounted to 203.4 billion tenge ($1-150 tenge), which is 23 per cent less than the same period of 2011.

'The decrease was connected with postponing uranium supplies for the last quarter of the year and a reduction in the uranium spot indicator in the second half of 2012', a statement said.

The company's net income for July-September this year amounted to 25 billion tenge.

According to the report, Mangistau Atomic energy complex produced more than 3401 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 2180 Gcal of thermal energy for consumers of Aktau city and Mangistau region in the first nine months of 2012.
