A working meeting of Russian Gazprom's Chairman of the Board Alexey Miller and Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev was held in Gasprom's office in Moscow on Tuesday, the company reported.

The parties discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including the implementation of joint projects in the field of exploration, production, processing and marketing of hydrocarbons.

Gasprom and Kazakhstan are mainly cooperating in following spheres: processing of raw materials from the Kazakh Karachaganak gas and condensate field at the Russian Orenburg GPP, transit of Kazakh gas via Russia to consumers in the CIS by the companies of Gazprom Group, Russian natural gas supplies to consumers of the Kazakh Kostanay Region, transit of Central Asian gas via Kazakhstan.

Gazprom Open Joint Stock Company is the largest producer of natural gas in the world and the major Russian company. Its major business lines are geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and marketing of hydrocarbons, as well as generation and marketing of heat and electric power. The Russian government has a controlling stake in the company.
