Volume of proven liquefied hydrocarbon reserve of Kazakh KazMunaiGas revealed

The consolidated forecast proven recoverable liquid hydrocarbon reserve of Kazakhstan's KazMunaiGas (KMG) JSC national company stood at 815 million metric tons as of January 1, 2015, the company head Sauat Mynbayev said.

He made the remarks at a briefing in Astana on Feb. 9.

"This is while the expected growth of the company's reserve nears 26 million metric tons," Mynbayev said.

Carrying out geological exploration work will ensure growth of the national company's reserve, he added.

The company head said that one exploratory well was drilled at Zhetysu structure in 2014 and the drilling of two deep exploratory wells at the Urikhtau site has started.

A 3D seismic survey is underway, Mynbayev said, adding that the drilling of the first appraisal well at the Rakushechnoye-sea structure has been completed.

Mynbayev also noted that new promising investment projects have already been worked out that include: Orken ,Shetpe, Zhilanshik , Samtyr ,Ustyurt, Isatai, Kosbulak, etc.

KazMunaiGas JSC is Kazakhstan's national operator for exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons and is wholly owned by Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund.
