Aktau port reduces transshipment of oil cargos

Aktau International Sea Commercial Port transshipped about 3.35 million tons of oil in January-November 2015, compared to 5.4 million tons during the same period of the last year, said in a statement posted on the port's website on Dec.8.

The port transshipped more than 5.95 million tons of oil in 2014, versus to over 6.28 million tons in 2013.

Part of the oil shipped through the Aktau Port is transported to Baku, where by the railway comes to the Black Sea ports of Georgia, and also is transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

Some 1.02 thousand tons of the total volume of dry cargo (2.16 million tons) transshipped by the port in January-November 2015, fell for metal products, 411 thousand tons - ferry cargo, 428 thousand tons - grain, 300 thousand tons - other cargoes, noted in the report.

In total, the port transshipped 5.51 million tons of cargo in January-November, versus 9.42 million tons in the same period of 2013.

Just last year the port transshipped 10.27 million tons of cargo, versus 10.08 million tons in 2013.
