SOCAR increases oil refining depth

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR increased the depth of oil refining at the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery to 90.2 percent, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said in an article published in the special issue of the country’s Iki Sahil newspaper.

He said that last year, this figure was 89.5 percent.

“In total, for eight months of this year, over 3.82 million tons of crude oil were processed,” the article said. “As a result, 783,900 tons of motor gasoline, 392,600 tons of jet fuel, 1.19 million tons of diesel fuel, 221,900 tons of furnace fuel oil, 130,600 tons of bitumen and 137,300 tons of coke were produced.”

Currently, the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery is being modernized, after which its production capacity will increase from 6 million to 7.5 million tons per year.
