Turkish company, Turkmenistan ink MoU in energy sphere

Ashgabat city hosted signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Turkmen Energy Ministry and Turkey’s Calik Holding A.S. company on cooperation in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line’s construction project, the TV channel “Turkmenistan” reported.

The signing of the document will mark the beginning of a new stage of the large-scale work to supply Turkmen energy resources to global consumers as part of mutually beneficial cooperation on an equal footing, Turkmenistan State News Agency reported.

It was earlier reported that the groundbreaking ceremony for the TAP power transmission line’s construction was scheduled for Feb. 23, 2018. Turkmenistan already supplies electricity to neighboring Afghanistan.
