Assets of SOCAR in manat terms grow almost 16% in 2017

Aggregate assets of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR amounted to 61.35 billion manats in 2017 (about 53.01 billion manats in 2016), reads the company’s consolidated financial statements report by Ernst & Young (EY) international audit company.

SOCAR's current assets account for 22.305 billion manats, long-term assets - 39.04 billion manats, according to the report.

The total capital of SOCAR amounted to 21.975 billion manats in 2017 (17.7 billion manats in 2016). At the same time, the authorized capital of SOCAR totaled 3.04 billion manats in 2017 (1.8 billion manats in 2016).

Cash and cash equivalents amounted to 5.22 billion manats in 2017 (4.16 billion manats in 2016), accounts receivable stood at 10.01 billion manats in 2017 (8.62 billion manats in 2016).

SOCAR’s fixed assets accounted for about 25.67 billion manats (20.12 billion manats in 2016), investments in joint ventures amounted to 5.02 billion manats, while investments in enterprises belonging to the SOCAR group amounted to 4.57 billion manats.

The company’s long-term liabilities amounted to 19.53 billion manats in 2017 (16.93 billion manats in 2016).

Current liabilities of SOCAR amounted to 19.85 billion manats in 2017 (18.37 billion manats in 2016). At the same time, the debt of SOCAR amounted to 12.45 billion manats in 2017 (9.69 billion manats in 2016).

SOCAR includes such production unions as Azneft (enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
