By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

During the first eight months of 2018, Kazakhstan's oil exports amounted to 48.4 million tons, which is 5.2 percent more compared to January-August 2017, Kazakh media reported citing Kazakhstan's energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev.

During the reported period, Kazakhstan also increased the volume of oil and condensate production.

"The volume of oil and condensate production in Kazakhstan amounted to about 60 million tons in the first eight months of 2018, which is 5.3 percent more than in the same period of 2017," the minister said.

"The volume of oil refining amounted to 10.43 million tons of oil, which is a 4 percent growth compared to the same period last year,” the minister added.

The volume of petroleum products' production at three refineries amounted to 7.3 million tons, showing growth of 2.8 percent compared to the same period of 2017, according to the minister.

"In general, the situation in the petroleum products market is stable and there is no deficit of fuels and lubricants," Bozumbayev said.

Bozumbaev noted that, as of September 10, the volume of residues of fuel and lubricants at tank farms is sufficient to cover the domestic market's needs for gasoline.
