Eurasia Drilling Company completes its rig repair in Baku shipyard

Eurasia Drilling Company has completed the repair of its Saturn rig in Baku shipyard, the company told Trend.

“Rig Saturn has completed repairs in Azerbaijan and will move to Turkmen sector to start drilling activity for a customer there,” said the Eurasia Drilling Company.

The company said that besides from Rig Saturn, BKE Shelf Ltd (part of EDC Group) has 3 jackup rigs in the Caspian Sea.

“These are rig Astra, which is currently stacked (idle) in the Russian sector and we have no current plans to re-activate this rig; rig Neptune is operating (drilling) in the Russian sector and rig Mercury is operating (drilling) in the Turkmenistan sector,” said the company.

As for the future plans, Eurasia Drilling Company said BKE Shelf Ltd. is going to drill seven horizontal wells from this wellhead platform (three wells in 2018 and 4 wells in 2020) with true vertical depth of 1600 m and measured depth up to 6000 meters.
