By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Work on the exploration of the recently discovered field of Uzynad, located in the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea is underway in south-west of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the report of the state concern “Turkmenneft”.

The state-owned concern is building two wells here, No. 17 and No. 8, designed to confirm the significant potential of this prospective area, said the report.

Specialists are also preparing project documentation for drilling horizontal and directional wells at the Uzynada field. In accordance with the program for the development of the country's oil and gas industry for 2018-2014, geological exploration will be significantly intensified, aimed at studying structures located at great depths - up to 7 kilometers.

Last May, drilling of an ultra deep well with a project depth of 7,150 meters was completed in the Uzynad area. In the course of its testing, an industrial flow of 500 thousand cubic meters of natural gas and 150 tons of gas condensate per day was obtained.

During the work, the drilling rig and equipment of the brand ZJ –70 DB manufactured by China were used. In recent years, the Altyguyy and Northern Goturdepe deposits have been discovered in Balkan province of Turkmenistan.
