Iran looks to get its private sector involved in gas-related projects

Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Hassan Montazer Torbati has indicated the necessity to identify assignable projects to the country's private sector, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"The National Iranian Gas Company should identify all the projects that can be assigned to the private sector in a two year time and after assignment, it would control and observe," he added.

"Development of network and gas operation in the region is currently changing," he said, mentioning the sixth gas transmission trunk line (IGAT-6 pipeline).

He noted that there has been good cooperation with the Bid Boland Gas Refinery in the Persian Gulf, and such cooperation should be encouraged.

He then touched upon the giving of gas-related projects to Iran's private sector.

"Considering the rise of gas transmission and production in the coming y ears, the approach should be to pass projects to companies, especially the private companies, to train new specialists," said Torbati.
