About 600 tons of ethane are sent daily as part of Phase 19 of Iran’s South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) for the needs of petrochemical facilities in the Asaloyeh district of the Bushehr province, said Mohammad Nemati, head of the operation department of Phase 19 of SPGC, Trend reports via Fars news agency.

He said that the Phase 19 is one of the few reliable phases for production in the complex.

He added that the production of the refinery as part of this phase is much higher than at similar plants.

The South Pars/North Dome field is the world’s biggest gas field shared by Iran and Qatar in the Persian Gulf. It is reported that the field has 51 million cubic meters of gas reserves and that it is possible to extract 36 trillion cubic meters of gas. In 2018, Iran extracted 610 million cubic meters of gas daily.
