Uzbekistan intends to transfer in trust management of the Novo-Angren and Angren thermal power plants to Kazakh company Mining Works LLP, Trend reports citing Podrobno.uz.
The head of the Uzbek company Thermal Power Plants Ruslan Mubarakshin stated that the work on the document on the transfer in trust management for a period of three years is underway. In his words, the transfer will ensure maximum use of natural gas and an increase in the share of coal burning at these stations.
He noted that, in parallel, the issue of importing coal for the stations is being discussed with the Kazakh company. Mubarakshin added that issues on the preferential transportation by rail are also being worked out.
Last year, representatives of Uzbekenergo (now disbanded) announced negotiations on these two stations with Russian and Chinese investors interested in taking them into trust management.
