SOCAR Energy Ukraine company’s Trading House has not violated the Ukrainian legislation during its activity, the company told Trend.

"SOCAR Energy Ukraine’s Trading House is a permanent member of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange and regularly takes part in e-trading,” the company said. “Its sole goal is to acquire a resource for commercial needs."

The company first participated in natural gas trading at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange e-platform on August 13, 2019. During the auction, lots of 50,000 cubic meters were traded.

"During the auction, everything was carried out within the rules and regulations of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange,” the company said. “According to the rules, procurement prices may be slightly increased to reach success.”

“The auction should have been completed at 4:00 (GMT+3),” the company said. “But during the auction, for some reason, the bidding end time was extended three times for half an hour.”

The company said that the temporary deprivation of access to e-bidding and the imposition of a fine are an unreasonable measure.

“We confirm that we do not have any commercial or business relations with the Central Gas Supply Company,” the company said.

SOCAR Energy Ukraine’s Trading House intends to positively resolve this conflict situation with the Committee of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange within the prescribed period.

According to the Ukrainian media, the Ukrainian Energy Exchange accused SOCAR Energy Ukraine of artificial affecting natural gas prices during trading.

Today, the client base of SOCAR Energy Ukraine’s Trading House is over 2,000 counterparties. It includes both big state structures, for example, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and commercial enterprises.

The company has 60 filling stations and two oil bunkers that operate only during shipping.

SOCAR has been operating in Ukraine since 2008.
