The completion of the construction of a new gas distribution station in Georgia's Rustavi is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2019, the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) told Trend.

“The project of the station meets international standards and will be the basis for supplying key distribution points in the country with a network of gas distribution stations using similar technologies in the future,” the corporation said.

As reported, to date, construction work on the installation of the Gardabani-2 TPP has been completed and testing of installed units is under way, as well as the adjustment of electrical systems, with a view to the subsequent operation of the station.

GOGC was established in March 2006 through the merger of the Georgian Oil International Corporation, the Georgian Gas International Corporation and Gruzneft.

In 2012, 100 percent of the shares of GOGC were transferred to the “Affiliate Fund”. The main area of activity of GOGC is oil and gas exploration and production, operations for their transportation, design, construction and operation of oil and gas pipelines.
