Deputy CEO of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Reza Dehghan has announced that talks are under way with Sinopec China to develop Yadavaran oil fields and CNPC is still working on development of North Azadegan oil fields.

“By the end of the current Iranian year (end on March 21 , 2020) production capacity of the Azeri oil field will reach from 30,000 to 65,000 barrels,” Dehghan said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“Production capacity of West Paydar oil field reaches about 12,000 barrels per day,” he added.

He stressed that a Russian consortium is active in both Aban and West Paydar fields.

Pointing to an increase in production of Yadavaran in west of Karun by 10,000 barrels a day by the end of the current Iranian year (end on March 21, 2020) he said that production capacity at the Azadegan field will probably be increased as well.

"We have no plans to cooperate with the Chinese on the South Azadegan field,” he said. “We are going to develop this field by cooperation with an Iranian company, but in North Azadegan, CNPC is still working and currently exploiting the field.”

“China's Sineopec is still active at the Yadavaran field, and talks are underway to increase production capacity in this field,” said Dehghan.
