Iran discloses volume of polyvinyl chloride produced by Arvand Petrochemical Company

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 19

The Arvand Petrochemical Company situated in the special economic zone of Iran’s south-western Khuzestan province produces 340,000 tons of polyvinyl chloride per year, Hasan Neshanzadeh, executive director of the company, said.

“Iran plans to produce 730,000 tons of polyvinyl chloride per year,” Neshanzadeh added, Trend reports referring to Nipna.

The executive director added that the product is manufactured at Imam Khomeini, Abadan and Gadir petrochemical companies’ plants.

“The Arvand Petrochemical Company ensures more than 90 percent of Iran's demand for sodium hydroxide,” Neshanzadeh said.

"The company has increased the export volume this year compared to last year," the executive director said.

“The company is holding the consultations with the private companies to produce its equipment within the country,” Neshanzadeh said.

The executive director said that an agreement will soon be signed with Iranian private companies to manufacture this equipment.

"More than 70 percent of the catalysts of the company are ensured through domestic production," Neshanzadeh said.

The executive director has not specified the export volume.

The Arvand Petrochemical Company will be the most profitable company in polyvinyl chloride production in the Middle East till 2022.
