By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Technical and economic feasibility of organizing benzene production is being studied at a refinery in the city of Sadi (Turkmenistan), Trend reports citing the company's statement.

The project aims to later use benzene as raw material for obtaining polystyrene and caoutchouc.

Also, construction of a complex of gasoline production plants complying with Euro-5 standards, high-quality base technical oils and other petrochemical products is under study.

Turkmenistan invites interested foreign companies both as consultants and as direct participants - investors to help implement plans for the development of the complex.

Turkmenistan is planning to increase its oil refining capacity to 22 million tons by 2025 and to 30 million tons by 2030. At this stage, the country produces about 10 million tons of oil annually, a significant part of which is processed at local enterprises.
