Iranian Pars Petrochemical Company’s revenues to increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 11

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

The annual revenues of Pars Petrochemical Company will increase from 60 trillion rials (about $1.42 billion) up to 100 trillion rials (about $2.38 billion) in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Iran’s southern Bushehr city, Executive Director of the company Masoud Hassani told reporters.

“This income will increase as a result of the addition of new products to styrene monomer products,” Hassani added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Commenting on the company's production and export from March 21 through September 22 of this Iranian year (bega on March 21, 2019), Hassani said that ethane production increased by six percent, benzene ethyl production - by 20 percent, and monomer styrene production - by seven percent. The monomer styrene production will increase by 25 percent till the end of next Iranian year (from March 21, 2020, through March 21, 2021).

Hassani said that the company's production increased by 10 percent from March 21 through September 22, compared to the same period of last year.

“The export of products by Pars Petrochemical Company increased by 21.5 percent from March 21 through November 21, compared to the same period of last year,” the executive director said.

"If the US had not imposed sanctions against Iran, this export would have reached 80 percent instead of 21.5 percent," Hassani said.

Iran’s Pars Chemical Company may produce 4.48 million tons of petrochemical products, 1.6 million tons of ethane, 980,000 tons of propane, 570,000 tons of butane, 86,000 tons of gasoline, 645,000 tons of benzene, 600,000 tons of monomer styrene, and 14,000 tons of benzol per year, he added.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018 and expanded the list of sanctions several times. As a result, Iran's oil export has greatly declined.
