Georgia reduces import of oil and oil products from Azerbaijan

In 2019, Georgia reduced the import of oil and oil products from Azerbaijan by 5.6 percent or 10,106 tons compared to 2018, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In 2019, Azerbaijan exported 170,918 tons of oil and oil products to Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia paid Azerbaijan $ 93.765 million for imported oil, which is $16.20 million, or 14.7 percent less than in 2018.

In 2018, Georgia imported 181,024 tons of oil and oil products worth $109.97 million from Azerbaijan.

In 2019, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia amounted to $1.05 billion, which is $36.9 million or 3.4 percent less compared to 2018. In 2018, this figure amounted to $1.09 billion.

Azerbaijan accounts for 8.1 percent of Georgia’s total trade turnover.

In 2019, Georgia imported goods and products from Azerbaijan in the amount of $559.13 million; compared to the previous year, this figure decreased by 5.7 percent.

Georgia's export to Azerbaijan totaled $498.70 million. This is 0.7 percent more compared to 2018.

In the trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan a negative balance reached $60.42 million. In annual terms this indicator decreased by 33.4 percent. In 2018, the negative balance amounted to $90.691 million.
