By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Gas produced in the 11th phase of Iran's joint South Pars gas field (this field is called North Dome in Qatar ) will be transported to Asalouyeh and Kangan refineries in the southern Iranian province of Bushehr, said Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh , Trend reports citing Mehr news agency.

According to Zangeneh, the development of this Phase has been entrusted to Iranian Petropars Company and the work has already started.

Zangeneh added that 1th stage of this Phase is being developed to produce 28.3 million cubic meters (1 billion cubic feet) of gas.

"Recently the platform will be installed in Phase 11 of the South Pars and hopefully the current government will start production before the end of August (2021)," he said.

The minister said that for the development of the 11th phase, the second phase is expected to have its gas pressure increased. Different plans are being assessed to achieve this, and in this regard the opinions of local and foreign consultants are used as well.

The South Pars gas field is a joint gas field Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field have reached 51 trillion cubic meters of gas (36 trillion extractable). At present, the potential for daily gas production from Iran's South Pars gas field is 650 million cubic meters. With the launch of new platforms in five phases (13, 14, 22, 23 and 24), gas production potential will increase to 680 million cubic meters daily.
