As much as 191,400 barrels of crude oil were produced via MOS and MOT equipment at the Iranian Maroon Oil and Gas Production Company of Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran, in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Bagher Ghasemi, operations manager of Maroon Oil and Gas Production Company, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

According to Ghasemi, via MOT (mobile Oil Treaters) equipment, 156,900 barrels of oil was produced at the field.

Ghasemi added that via MOS (Mobile Oil Separator) equipment, 35,300 barrels of oil was produced at the field.

The official said that a total of 14,300 operations were carried out at the company's oil wells. Replacement and repair of equipment and overhead cranes, reduction of production, repair of surface pipes, etc. are included in these operations.

Ghasemi said that in the eastern part of the Maroon oil field, 22 oil wells have been overhauled.

Additional 580,000 barrels of oil is extracted daily from wells owned by Iran's Maroon Oil and Gas Company. Some of the oil goes for domestic consumption and the rest for export. The company also produces approximately 36,000 barrels of liquefied gas daily, which is sent to Mahshahr petrochemical plant.

The company produces about 560 million cubic feet of gas (about 15.8 million cubic meters) daily, along with oil and 465 million cubic meters (about 13.1 million cubic meters) is shipped to related locations.

The company produces 7,200 barrels of naphtha daily and ships it for export to Mahshahr port. With 1 well repaired and 3 wells commissioned, this production is expected to increase by 27,000 barrels per day.

Iran has 125 oil fields and 59 gas fields. Iran's total hydrocarbon reserves are estimated at 836 billion barrels.

With available technology and equipment, the country can extract 239 billion barrels. Thus, 29 percent of the country hydrocarbon reserves are recoverable, while 71 percent remain underground.

The law of nationalization of the Iranian oil industry was approved in Iran, March 19, 1951. Thus, the discovery, operation and extraction of oil is under the control of the state.
