At least three petrochemical plants are being built in Iran to increase polyethylene production, Trend reports Iran’s National Petrochemical Company’s official portal.
According to the report, the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company is building a plant to produce 300,000 tons of polyethylene a year.
“Aryasasol Polymer Company is building a plant to produce 300,000 tons of polyethylene a year,” the report said.
“It was also decided to build a 310,000-tons polyethylene plant of the Tabriz Petrochemical Company,” the report said.
At present, 15 petrochemical plants in Iran produce 5 million tons of various polyethylene products a year, according to the report.
With the commissioning of the Miandoab petrochemical plant last week, Iran is expected to produce 5 million tons of polyethylene.
