Azerbaijan’s natural gas production pace over last decade

Gross natural gas production in Azerbaijan has increased by 8 billion cubic meters between 2010 and 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

The country produced 25.07 billion cubic meters in 2010, with 16.25 billion cubic meters accounting for marketed production. Reinjection stood at 5.50 billion cubic meters, flaring was equal to 1.30 billion cubic meters, while other losses amounted to 2.02 billion cubic meters.

In 2011, Azerbaijan’s gross natural gas output stood at 24.58 billion cubic meters, including 15.95 billion cubic meters of marketed production, 5.40 billion cubic meters of reinjection, 1.10 billion cubic meters of flaring and 2.13 billion cubic meters of other losses.

The country increased natural gas production to 26.40 billion cubic meters in 2012. Marketed gas production also rose to 16.81 billion cubic meters. Gas reinjection increased standing at 6.15 billion cubic meters, while flaring dropped to 0.65 billion cubic meters with other losses rising to 2.79 billion cubic meters.

Gross natural gas production in Azerbaijan continued to rise, standing at 27.85 billion cubic meters in 2013, 28.22 billion cubic meters in 2014, nosediving to 27.83 billion cubic meters in 2015 and recovering slightly to 27.91 billion cubic meters in 2016 before dropping to 27.07 billion cubic meters in 2017.

The country’s production rose to 28.41 billion cubic meters in 2018 and to 33.16 billion cubic meters in 2019.
