Iran discloses electricity generation at Iran's Bandar Abbas TPP

The Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated about 3.77 million megawatt-hours of electricity during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020), Deputy Director of Thermal Power Plant Holding Company’s branch in Hormozgan Province Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to Mahmoudi, of this volume, 3.66 million megawatt-hours of electricity were generated by steam units and about 109,000 megawatt-hours by gas units.

The deputy director added that Iran's Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant has 4 steam and 2 gas units. In general, this power plant can produce 1,320 megawatt-hours of electricity.

“The Bandar Abbas TPP plays a major role on the electricity supplying to Hormozgan Province,” he said.

Mahmoudi also noted that furthermore, certain repair operations were carried out at the TPP in the 7th month of current Iranian year (September 22 through October 21, 2020).
