A total of five sucker rod pumps (SRP) have been installed in Iran-Iraq joint North Yaran field (called Majnoon in Iraq) so far, the North Yaran oilfield development project manager Mohammad-Ali Ajdari said, Trend reports citing National Iranian Oil Company’s website.

Ajdari stressed that it is planned to be installed 10 pumps in the North Yaran field until February 18, 2021.

The manager added that so, daily crude oil extraction from Iran's North Yaran field will increase from 15,000 to 25,000 barrels.

Iran's Yaran oil field consists of two parts, North Yaran and South Yaran. It is forecast that Iran's Yaran oil field contains about 1.55 billion barrels of crude oil. It is possible to extract about 100 million barrels of it. At present, daily 15,000 barrels of crude oil is extracted from this field.

On July 11, a contract was signed to increase extraction from Iran's Yaran oil field. Under the contract, 39.5 million barrels of oil will be extracted from the field over 10 years.
