A total of 500 million euro has been saved on the construction of the Iran’s Goureh-Jask oil pipeline, so far, Executive Director of Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Dehghani stressed that 95 percent of equipment and services used on the construction of this pipeline were provided by domestic potential.

The director added that there is currently 80 percent progress in the construction of the first part of the pipeline.

“The first part of the pipeline is being built to transport daily 300,000 barrels of crude oil,” he said.

Dehghani also noted that the first part of the pipeline is expected to be launched by the end of the year (March 21, 2021). At present, 780 km of pipes have been produced and 400 km of pipes have been laid, so far.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.

According to the program, the pipeline will be commissioned next year (begins March 21, 2021).

It is also planned to build a 30 million-barrel oil storage facility on 460 hectares at the Iranian Jask oil terminal. As part of this program, a storage facility for 10 million barrels of oil is being built.
