By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Iran beat a new record on the gas processing with the processing of 840 million cubic meters of gas daily, Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hassan Montazer Torbati said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

The deputy minister emphasized that it is hoped that Iran's gas processing will increase in the next 10 days.

Montazer Torbati added that this increase was achieved as a result of certain changes in the systems of gas refineries.

“Due to the increase in gas consumption in housing and commercial facilities, it is possible to create a positive balance between production and consumption,” he said.

As reported, gas consumption in Iran has exceeded 800 million cubic meters in recent days.

Iran can extract more than 1 billion cubic meters of gas per day.
