New gas compressor station put into operation in Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 15

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan has commissioned a gas compressor station at the Malai gas field in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The commissioning of this gas compressor station with an annual capacity of 30 billion cubic meters will increase the export supply of Turkmen natural gas.

Currently, China is the largest importer of Turkmen natural gas. Billions of cubic meters of energy raw materials are supplied to Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China international pipeline.

The Malai gas field has been in commercial development for more than 20 years. Over the years, the gas field has provided gas to settlements and various facilities in the Lebap region of the country, as well as supplied many billions of cubic meters of gas for export.

Malai is one of the most productive fields in Turkmenistan, where efficient natural gas production has been carried out for many years.

Gas supplies to the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline are also provided from this field.

As reported, the construction of a booster compressor station (BSC) will increase fuel supplies to China.

Turkmenistan will annually supply 65 billion cubic meters of gas to China by the end of 2021, under the agreement signed between Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas and the China National Oil and Gas Corporation (CNPC).

Malai is one of Turkmenistan’s fields, where natural gas has been produced for many years. The supply of natural gas to the Turkmenistan-China interstate gas pipeline is provided from this field.
