Turkmenistan will take measures to accelerate geological exploration, increase the volume of identified and confirmed oil reserves and other natural resources, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
The corresponding instructions were given by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Myratgeldi Meredov during the working meeting.
The head of state pointed out that effective measures should be taken to accelerate geological exploration, increase the volume of identified and confirmed reserves of oil and other natural resources.
Also, efforts should be made to attract direct and indirect foreign investment in the oil refining and gas chemical industry, the head of the state said.
In addition to these issues, the president stressed the need to use the design capacity of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries of the country at the expense of crude oil produced under Production Sharing Agreements.
In this regard, it is necessary to solve the issues of purchasing oil at market prices and processing it in economically favorable conditions, as well as exporting the produced petroleum products and obtaining additional profit from them, said the president.
The president also drew attention to the fact that the oil and gas industry has not yet opened an electronic tender platform designed for holding tenders for the purchase of goods, related work and services.
As reported, the main goals are to increase the volume of oil and natural gas production and processing, introduce modern digital technologies, and expand international cooperation in the energy sector.
The program of development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan up to 2030 envisages construction of facilities and enterprises for the production of synthetic gasoline in the country's Akhal region, of methyldiethanolamine in the Balkan region and of isobutane at polymer plant in Kiyanly as well as plants for the production of rubber, polystyrene, polyvinyl acetate and methanol.
