The foundation of the first section of Turkmenistan's ring power system has been laid, on which more than 500 metal supports for the 220 KW high-voltage line have been installed, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

The installation of 1,426 supports necessary for the construction of the first stage of the ring network and the construction of Serdar-220, Gyzylarbat-110 and Balkan-500 electrical substations should be completed in August.

The ring power system will connect the electric networks of Akhal, Balkan and Dashoguz regions of Turkmenistan.

As reported, Turkmenistan is expected to grow electricity exports by 8.7 percent by 2025.

The construction of new power plants, power transmission lines, modern transformer substations and switchgears will contribute to the growth of exports.

Earlier, Turkmen Ministry of Energy said that there are opportunities to transit Turkmen electricity through Afghanistan to Tajikistan, Pakistan and India.

Turkmenistan plans to generate up to 35.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity by 2030.
