As many as 8 facilities in water and electricity sectors will be launched in eight – Isfahan, Kerman, Bushehr, Hamadan, Lorestan, South Khorasan, Markazi and Mazandaran provinces of Iran tomorrow on July 6, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.
According to the report, a total of 7.79 trillion rials (about $185 million) has been spent on these facilities.
“About 18,000-meter length of water pipelines have been laid in Iran's Isfahan Province in connection with water supply. A total of 418 billion rials (about $9.95 million) has been spent in this regard. In addition, 45 villages in the province will be supplied with water,” the report said.
Also, the renewable energy power plants with a total generation capacity of 4.2 megawatt-hours of electricity will be launched in four provinces of Iran, Bushehr, Kerman, Hamadan and Lorestan. About 416 billion rials (about $9.9 million) have been spent on these power plants, the report said.
According to the report, the cooling system of Shazand power plant in the Markazi Province will be put into operation. By using this system, the steam unit will generate 20-28 megawatt-hours of electricity and save 27,000 liters of water. A total of 1.09 trillion rials (about $25.9 million) has been spent in this regard.
“In addition, a water sweetening facility using reverse osmosis (RO) will be put into operation at the Shahid Salimi (Neka) Thermal Power Plant in Mazandaran Province. About 850 billion rials (about $20.2 million) have been spent on this facility. The facility will sweet 6,000 cubic meters of water per day and the water will be used in the agriculture sector,” the report said.
At the same time, a power plant will be launched at the Tabas coal mine in South Khorasan Province. The power plant costs 4.79 trillion rials (about $114 million). After the launch of the plant, about 2 million tons of coal can be produced annually, the report said.
