MOL Group starts well completion operations in Kazakhstan

Well completion operations have been started by MOL Group at Rozhkovskoye Field in Kazakhstan and are in progress, Trend reports citing the company.

MOL Group is in partnership with KMG EP and FIOC in its joint operational company, Uralsk Oil and Gas (UOG) in the Fedorovskiy block, where preparations are currently ongoing for the Trial Production Project.

MOL Group, as the technical leader in the project, in cooperation with its partners in delivering the roadmap towards first gas. In 2019, Rozhkovskoye Field Development Plan was approved by Kazakhstan Central Commission for Exploration and Development of minerals.

In 1Q2021, MOL Group has reached new agreements on the Production Contract Amendment with the Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Ministry of National Economy.

The agreement on Amendment 5 provides for the updated Work Program with the new schedule of the project delivery. The updated work program and schedule are being reviewed by the Kazakh State Authorities and are subject to official approval in 2021. The amendment allows to extend the first gas date to late 2023.

In 2Q2021, relating to the Production Contract Amendment #5 of Work Program, an agreement was reached with the Kazakh Ministry of Energy on further work required to finalize the documents.

“A contractor had been selected for Front End Engineering Design by a tendering exercise, and execution is nearing completion. Well completion operations have also been started and are in progress,” the company added.
