Azerbaijan ramps up gas export via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline for 7M2021

Azerbaijan has increased the volume of gas export via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline from January to July 2021, Trend reports on Aug.18 citing a report from the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

According to the report, the volume made up 9.7 billion cubic meters, which is a growth of 40.75 percent on annual basis.

Some 49.3 percent of all gas transported by Azerbaijan accounted for the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. This indicator increased by over 11 percentage points during the year.

Some 19.8 billion cubic meters of gas have been transported via the main pipelines of Azerbaijan in the first seven months of 2021, which is by 11.1 percent more than in the same period of last year.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is over 700 kilometers. The gas, which is produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, is being transported via the pipeline. The gas is supplied via pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
