The Atyrau oil refinery in Kazakhstan is switching to the production of off-season diesel fuel, Trend reports with reference to Kazinform.
According to the production plan and the request of the domestic market, Atyrau oil refinery is currently taking measures to prepare technological units for the production of off-season diesel fuel with a filterability temperature of minus five degrees.
“These products are designed for Kazakhstani consumers in the off-season period when the air temperature does not drop below five degrees. The production of this type of diesel engine (DT-E) of ecological class K4 began at the Atyrau Refinery in 2019 and became possible thanks to new technological units built as part of the modernization project. With a decrease in air temperature, the Atyrau Refinery will switch to the production of other types of diesel fuel with PTF -15, -25, -32 and low-solidifying Khazar-38, Altay-45, unique for Kazakhstan,” the press service of the plant reports.
Having informed that in connection with the tense situation with diesel fuel in the domestic market, the Atyrau Refinery, together with KazMunayGas NC JSC, decided to postpone the current repairs, approved by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan in September 2021, to a later date.
It is reported that the Atyrau Refinery produced 1,027,123 tons of diesel fuel for 8M2021, which is 10,500 tons more than in the same period in 2020. At the same time, in 8M2021, the plant shipped 1.032 million tons of diesel, which is almost 13,000 tons more than in the same period in 2020.
“Since May 5, the tanks of the diesel fuel fleet are "dry". When a commercial batch of diesel fuel is produced, it is immediately shipped to consumers. The shipment is carried out in all regions of Kazakhstan with the priority of providing the city of Atyrau, the Atyrau region, and the western region of the country,” the press service of the plant reports.
It is noted that the Atyrau Refinery works on a tolling scheme and does not sell oil products.
