BP remains committed to implementing projects in Azerbaijan, despite current events in the world, Vice President for the Caspian region, Communications and Advocacy Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli told Trend.

"We are committed to our projects in Azerbaijan. Regardless of the development of world events, we have obligations under the agreements signed with Azerbaijan. And we will continue our activities within the framework of these obligations," Aslanbayli said.

BP is a party to Azerbaijan's major oil and gas projects. In particular, it acts as the project operator for the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater-Gunashli (ACG) oilfield and the Shah Deniz (SD) gas-condensate field.

Moreover, bp participates in pipeline projects, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, works on such promising structures as D230, Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP), and Shafag-Asiman.

Furthermore, in June 2021, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and bp signed an Implementation Agreement on cooperation in the evaluation and implementation of a project to build a 240 MW solar power plant in the Zangilan/Jabrayil district.
