BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has started oil production from two more wells in the Danan oil field in the Ilam Province (western Iran), an official of the ICOFC, Parviz Salehvand said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to Salehvand, drilling of wells No.15 and 20 at the Danan field has been completed, and production testing has been successfully carried out.
The official added that currently, the ICOFC can produce 2,000 barrels of crude oil per day from well No. 15 and about 1,000 barrels per day from well No. 20.
“In general, work is underway to drill and launch 7 more wells in the Danan oil field by the end of current Iranian year (ends March 20, 2023),” he said.
The Danan oil field is in the operating zone of the West Oil and Gas Production Company (WOGPC), which is one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). Oil extraction from the Danan oil field, which discovered in 2007, began in 2014. With the full development of the Danan oil field, production from this field will double to 25,000 barrels per day.
