BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (South Caucasus Pipeline) has transported 12.020 billion cubic meters of gas from January through July 2022, as compared to 6.944 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

As such, the volume of gas transportation via the South Caucasus Pipeline grew by more than 73 percent year-on-year.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum accounted for 52.4 percent of gas transported through Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines in the first 7 months of 2022, versus 38.9 percent in the same period in 2021.

Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines transported almost 22.933 billion cubic meters from January through July 2022, as compared to 17.833 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2021, showing a 28.6 percent growth.

SCPC shareholders are: bp (29.99 percent), LUKOIL (19.99 percent), TPAO (19 percent), SOCAR (14.35 percent), NICO (10 percent) and SGC (6.67 percent).

The SCP has been operational since late 2006, transporting Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. The expanded section of the pipeline commenced commercial deliveries to Turkey in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020.
