BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The generation of electricity by Azerenergy JSC's power plants amounted to 14.653 billion kilowatt-hours, including thermal power plants - 13.578 billion kilowatt-hours, hydroelectric power plants - 1.075 billion kilowatt-hours from January through July, 2022, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
This amounts to 90.02 percent of the electricity produced throughout the country from January through July, 2022.
The State Energy Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic produced 268.8 million kWh of electricity (Thermal power plant - 156.5 million kWh, Hydroelectric power plant - 77.8 million kWh, Solar power plant - 34.5 million kWh), Azerishig JSC Baku electrical grid operator produced 39.06 million kWh at wind power plants, at independent power plants – 1.316 billion kWh of energy," the ministry noted.
Some 16.278 billion kWh of electricity was generated in Azerbaijan from renewable energy sources from January through July, 2022, which is 2.6 percent, or 420 million kWh higher than in the same period the previous year.
