BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. Iran's private sector exported 26 million tons of oil products, gas and petrochemical products worth $15 billion dollars during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Chairman of Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters' Union Hamid Hosseini said at a press conference on October 19, 2022, Trend reports citing ISNA.

This is an increase of 40 percent in value, while a decrease of 20 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year, according to Hosseini.

The chairman also added that in the same period last Iranian year, Iran’s private sector exported 32 million tons of oil products, gas, and petrochemical products worth $11.8 billion.

“The most exported products were polymers. Thus, 1.8 million tons of polymers worth $2.17 billion were exported in 6 months,” he said.

At the same time, 4.7 million tons of methanol worth $1.33 billion, 1.55 million tons of urea worth $957 million, and 1.03 million tons of bitumen worth $836 million were exported in 6 months, Hosseini noted.
