BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. The volume of electricity generated by the power plants in Iran’s Yazd Province (central Iran), increased by 8 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, CEO of the Eastern Region Electric Power Production Company Mohsen Shirgholami said, Trend reports citing Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.

The CEO noted that a total of 8.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by the province's power plants in 7 months.

“At present, several programs regarding the repairs of the province's power plants are being prepared," Shirgholami said. "This is being done to have everything ready for electricity generation next summer."

In total, over 2,800 megawatt-hours of electricity can be generated in Iran's Yazd Province. Of this, 2,560 megawatt-hours are accounted for thermal power plants, 81.5 megawatt-hours for solar panels, and 167 megawatt-hours for Distributed Generation.
