BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The South Caucasus Pipeline, or Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, has transported more than 5.511 billion cubic meters of gas from January through March 2023, as compared to 5.026 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2022, Trend reports via Azerbaijan’s state statistical committee.
As such, the volume of gas supplies via SCP rose by 9.65 percent year-on-year. It accounted for 47.8 percent of gas transported via Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines from January through March 2023, compared to 46.7 percent in the same period in 2022.
Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines have transported around 11.520 billion cubic meters from January through March 2023, showing a 7 percent growth year-on-year.
The SCP has been operational since late 2006, transporting Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye. The expanded section of the pipeline commenced commercial deliveries to Türkiye in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020.
SCPC shareholders are: bp (29.99%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%), SOCAR (14.35%), NICO (10.00%) and SGC (6.67%).
