BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. Iran's Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company plans to build another PTA/PET plant in the near future, CEO of the company, Reza Ghasemi Shahri said at the company’s annual meeting, Trend reports.
According to Ghasemi Shahri, the necessary license for investment in the construction of the mentioned plant has already been granted, and preliminary work is expected to be carried out soon.
The CEO also added that the company’s two plants are currently in operation. A new polyester fiber unit is planned to be launched in one of the existing plants within the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). This unit can produce 66,000 tons of products annually.
Iran's Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company launched its activity in 1998 and it operates in the Bandar Imam Special Economic Zone. The company produces PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) products.
The company produces more than 1.6 million tons of products a year, and the value of the company's annual production is estimated at more than $800 million. The company operates under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company of Iran.
