In 2010, the Azerikimya State-Owned Company underwent a transfer to SOCAR. Currently operating under the umbrella of SOCAR, Azerikimya manages an ethylene-polyethylene plant (EP-300, Polymer-120), an isopropyl alcohol production unit, steam and electric energy production facilities, as well as a repair and construction division.
Since the transition to SOCAR, significant efforts have been dedicated to ensuring a consistent supply of raw materials to the plant's facilities, improving product quality, and expanding production capacity. Notably, modern infrastructure has been established and is now operational, including a nitrogen-oxygen complex, a water-cooling device, an absolute isopropyl alcohol section, equipment for sulphur compound removal from the propane-propylene fraction, and a hydrogenation unit for the butane-butylene fraction. Furthermore, the central laboratory has been equipped with state-of-the-art instruments following the reconstruction process.
The primary phase of the ambitious project aimed at the large-scale modernization and reconstruction of Azerikimya's Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant was successfully completed in 2022. This significant achievement represents a significant step forward in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and overall operations at Azerikimya, reinforcing its role within the SOCAR portfolio.
