Iran’s Bandar Abbas TPP achieves high electricity production in six months

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated more than 3.09 billion kilowatts of electricity during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP, Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports.

Mahmoudi noted that most of the electricity (about 2.98 billion kilowatts) was generated by the steam units, while the gas units contributed 110 million kilowatts.

The official also added that in the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), the steam units produced 453 million kilowatts and the gas units produced 10.5 million kilowatts of electricity.

He added that all the power units of the plant are working at full capacity and supplying electricity to the network.

The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours.

The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320 megawatt hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt hours each.
