BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Azerbaijan exported 1,710 tons of oil bitumen worth $421,630 from January through November this year, Trend reports, referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC).
According to SCC statistics, this is 98.07 percent lower in quantitative terms and 98.34 percent lower in value terms than the index for the same period in 2022.
From January to November 2023, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover fell by 3.84 percent, or $1.891 billion, compared to the same period in 2022, from $49.218 billion to $47.325 billion.
Exports accounted for $31.512 billion in foreign trade transactions, a decrease of $4.822 billion, or 13.27 percent, over the same time last year. Exports accounted for 66.59 percent of total foreign trade turnover, up from 73.83 percent the previous year.
Azerbaijan's imports in the reporting period increased by $2.931 billion, or 22.76 percent year-on-year, from $12.881 billion to about $15.812 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 33.41 percent, up from 26.17 percent a year earlier.
The foreign trade balance, while remaining positive during the review period, declined year-on-year by over $7.753 billion, or 33.06 percent, to $15.7 billion, compared to $23.454 billion in the 2022 review period.
