ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 25. Turkmenistan invites foreign investors to cooperate in the development of the large Galkynysh gas field, Trend reports.
This was stated by the Chairman of Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz State Concern, Maksat Babayev, during the International Forum to Attract Foreign Investments in Turkmenistan's Energy Sector, which is taking place in Paris.
According to him, the first stage of development of this field, located in the southeast of Turkmenistan, consistently ensures the export of 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year to China.
"It is planned to use the second stage to increase supplies by 25 billion cubic meters. The third stage will become a resource base for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project with a capacity of 33 billion cubic meters per year," he said.
Babayev stressed that the state concern, Turkmengaz, is open to mutually beneficial cooperation with all interested parties.
"I am confident that the current forum will become an effective platform for further development of cooperation between the national oil and gas companies of Turkmenistan and international investors," he added.
Meanwhile, data from the Turkmengaz State Concern shows that the country's hydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons of oil equivalent.
This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
